Are dental implants as strong as real teeth?

If you get an implant, is there any type of food you should avoid?

Are dental implants as strong as real teeth?
People should never answer a question unless they know the truth. I have implants and NO they are not painful and YES they are as strong if not stronger than natural teeth.

The difference between an implanted tooth and a natural tooth is the fact that a natural tooth has "give" in it. If you bite into something it can actually give a bit but an implanted tooth is bonded into the bone and doesn't shift or give at all.

The implant itself is into the bone and the crown on top what you see. The crown can break but the implant is under the gums and is strong. If you chomp ice with natural teeth the tooth can break and the same can be said for the crown on an implant. You can eat normal foods such as corn on the cob, apples, etc with ease. If foods can damage natural teeth it can damage the crown. One just needs to use wisdom.

As for pain. Implants do not hurt. The pain comes from the roots of the natural tooth when it is removed. Once the nerves are gone then the only pain one feels really is soreness not pain.
Reply:it is very painful do go for that.
Reply:I think not.

Implants are much weaker and they tend to break or have some problems, soon.
Reply:Dental implants are just as strong as your normal teeth. Once the implant has been put into the bone correctly many implants have been cut with a micron grooves for both bone cells to grow and gum tissue to grow. They should be as strong as your normal tooth.

You need not avoid any food and just eat as you normally would
Reply:implants are very strong. if they werent then they wouldnt be recommended and so amny people wouldnt have them. they can break, just like a normal tooth can and the pain would only be until everything heals...nothing outrageous.
Reply:A DENTAL IMPLANT IS ACTUALLY ONE WITH THE BONE, WHEREAS A REAL TOOTH IS NOT. WHAT SEPARATES THE TOOTH FROM THE BONE IS THE PERIODONTAL LIGAMENT WHICH ACTS AS A TYPE OF RUBBER GASKET SURROUNDING THE TOOTH. SO IF YOU MEANT ARE IMPLANTS MORE RETENTIVE, THEN YES!
