Are dental implants generally permanent?

If not, how long do they typically last?

Are dental implants generally permanent?
See my avatar? That is my new smile. I have dental implants and a beautiful dream smile.

I was told that my implants will last my lifetime. I however have traditional ones. Mini implants however I read may only last 15 or so years.

However my teeth will not last my lifetime. They will have to be repaired or replaced at some time down the road.

My Prosthodontist has placed implants going on 30 years. He has employees that work for him who have had implants one for 25 years and one for 20. Both of these woman's implants are strong and healthy. Implants bond to the bone and if one is careful to have good hygenine and regualar cleanings then implants should last your lifetime.
Reply:maybe it depends on your diet.
Reply:It depends on how well you take care of them. Normally implants last AT LEAST 15-20 years. You must make sure you get cleaning done at least 2x a year.
