Should my mom have dental implants?
It may be a good option. She should see a dentist about it (preferably one who does full-mouth reconstruction cases). Also depends on how much money she has available to her as a full "fixed" (permanently placed) runs around $30,000 and up. Possibly a better option (and all these options depend on how much bone is left) would be to do "implant retained dentures", where implants are placed to help hold in the dentures...a very good option usually. Patients are usually very pleased with the results. Best wishes. (cost per implant generally about $2200, so might use two per denture e.g.)
Reply:has she lost all her teeth or just few? Complete denture fixing with implant is going to be very expensive %26amp; the dentist will judge is she is the right patient for it or not. If few are missing, go in for a bridge which is cheaper %26amp; no surgical procedures.
