What the major steps in dental implants?

I may have to have dental implants... 2 of my teeth need excraction. I wanted to know, Im I going to go with out couple teeth for a long time? I would be so embarrased to go to work with no front teeth. Does the dentist put temporary teeth till I get the permanent ones?

What the major steps in dental implants?
I have implants and my Doctor is a Prosthodontist not a Periodontist. A prostodontist is a dentist whose practice if for replacement of teeth and many often specialize in placing implants. The one I chose is in Fort Washington, PA and does "teeth in a day" Where your teeth are pulled, implants placed and teeth attached in a one day surgery. This office does implants primarily and have a 98 to 100% success rate. I was thrilled with them. However the teeth they attach are actually temporary teeth that you cannot chew anything with firmer than something soft like pasta or baked fish for about 5 months when you get your permanent crowns. But that time goes by so fast. For people who have only 2 teeth replaced just avoid chewing on that side for me I have a total implant restoration where I had to be very careful.

There are different ways of approaching implants and it depends on the dental professional you choose. You will find that not all dental professionals do the immediate loading. Some pull the teeth and make you wear a partial or denture until you gums are healed and other's place implants right away but put cover the implants with the gum tissue and you wear a partial or denture until they open the gums and attach the abutment and then again for a short time you wear your denture or partial and about 6 months later you get your actual teeth.

All in all it takes a while but I like the kind I got because no one but me knew they were temporary and they were so very beautiful.
Reply:The dentist may supply temporary teeth, but why worry. IT will only be for a few days, while the implants are made.
Reply:Getting implants is a long procedure. It will take some healing time after the implant is placed into the bone, a healing cap will be placed on the site. (I do believe that a temp can be made...not sure if they do that right away. ) Then in a few months you will return to the Dr. and he will take off the healing cap, take impressions for your implant crown and will replace the healing cap with a temp.

I am a dental assistant for a general dentist. I have not preformed the actual surgery (a periodontist does that), but I have been involved with the impression stage of the procedure. This is not an over night thing, so please be patient, but the results will amaze you!
Reply:Your dentist will provide the best option to cover the extraction site, to save you from any (if at all?) embarassment. The patient has to be a good candidate for teeth-in-a-day. Otherwise, normal course of implant placement surgery, sutures removal after 7-14 days, placing abutment, 3-6 months of healing process (osseointegration), and finally crowns.
Reply:Dental Implants and Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.

They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
