Dental Implants?
Typically dental implants require three stages. (a) First stage: To evaluate whether you are the candidate for the dental implant - the doctor will look at your dental x-rays, bone strength, etc to decide. If you are the candidate, then dental implant is placed. (b) Second stage: To uncover the dental implant and place abutment and temporary crown (c) Third stage: Permanent crown. From 1st stage to 3rd stage, the process takes around 3 to 4 months.

Dental implant is an artificial tooth root replacement. There are many types. The most commonly used one is the osseointegrated implant. The material is Titanium. There are several manufacturers of this implant.

The dental implants are expensive in UK / USA (typically $3500 per tooth) and is not covered in many insurances. Many people go to other countries like India, Mexico, Thailand for their dental implants. The implant cost savings are 50% to 80%. There are companies like healthbase (www.healthbase.com) arranges all the necessary booking with the hospitals, travel, accommodation and even sight-seeing. Healthbase works with internationally accredited hospitals (like JCI / JCAHO / ISO accredited) and doctors who have trained in USA / UK. Their website has cost estimates (free quote) and detailed profiles about the hospitals, doctors and medical procedures. Do your homework before packing.
Reply:There are a couple of different companies that make them, and they're done differently. The newer one can actually be inserted the day the tooth is extracted. The process for the older one actually takes nearly a year.
Reply:Yes they can put an implant in after they pull a tooth..An Implant is not the permanent tooth..that is something different..It all depends on the strength of the jaw bone..Many factors to be considered.
Reply:The traditional way of doing the implant process is still the best though it takes almost 4-6 months to complete and has success rate almost 98%. But the ones that are called Same Day Implants also takes somewhat same time of healing, the only advantage being you get the teeth same day that need far greater precautions. But not all are good candidates for same and these have success rate far less.
Reply:I Had Them Put In. My Whole Upper Teeth Are Inplants. It Took Me Along Time. But It Was Worth It.I Paid Alot To Have It Done. But It Is Better Than Haveing Flase Teeth Any Day.
Reply:Six weeks after your extraction, and providing there is good bone density.
