Dental implants?

I just got lower dentures and they are terrible. The Dentist wants to put implants in. Does anyone have this situation and what do you think of it.

Dental implants?
If I had to get a lower denture (thank God I do not!), the only way I would get one is to secure it down with about 6 implants. Otherwise the denture will never have any retention.
Reply:I don't have this experience myself, but I deal with it quite a bit. Upper dentures typically fit well because you get a "suction" from your palate. Lower dentures just kind of sit/float there in your mouth. Implants are a great way to stabilize your lower denture. They make attachments that snap on, keeping a real tight fit. All my patients that get them are very pleased. I've even done some for family members. (They have been happy for 10 years.)
Reply:Do you have uppers too or are just using a lower denture against natural upper teeth? Lower dentures are very hard to get used to and will try your patience. Some people go for implants on the bottom to stabilize the denture- worth looking into.
Reply:Tillie hi

Dental implant dentures are a solution for people who have lost all of their teeth (edentulous), either on the upper jaw, lower jaw or both. It is a method of maintaining the shape of the mouth and all of the functions of the jaw and teeth at a lower cost than a full set of dental implants.
