Dental implants, cosmetic dentistry?
hi - wow, my favourite subject!
Yep, had implants - 7 in total, but because i did 6 in one go, and 1 few years later, the 6 did not cost as much as 1 x 6. For example, for the 6 implants i paid 6000GBP and for only one implant i paid 1500GBp. Now my teeth look really nice and everyone makes comments - little do they know what i went through! The surgery was done in Harley Street - and they also offer 0% interest free credit loans Its the best thing i have ever done and would advice everyone to go for it. I can also give plenty of advice of " after op care" as i have been through it twice. Good luck.
Reply:Hi! For the UK that is the going price for implants and restorations. In the USA it is about 3K per a unit on the East and West Coast. Midwest and South is somewhat cheaper. However, it is not as easy as you think and if your friend has gum disease, the chances of the implants being successful with bone loss is harder. Often bone has to be grafted to make a larger support bone for the implants. Then they have to heal for 4-6 months before the restorative is done. This is a lenghty process. And it will never be cheap in this decade for sure. Wish I could tell you a better solution, but one thing is to get two implants and a restorative partial. That would be about 1/3 and look nice as well. This way your friend can eat and laugh and not worry about the partial falling out. That is certainly an option to consider. M
Reply:I can truly believe these quotes and am surprised they're not worse.
I'm a dentist in Ireland.
Implants here range from €2,500 to €5000.
Ball-park figure a pound sterling is about €1.50 so
that would be about $12,000 here..about $3,000 per tooth.
Its much cheaper in Eastern europe and the Exact same materials are used.
How do I know? Because the same companies in the US supply Ireland, the UK and Eastern Europe.
As a dentist I know the prices in the UK and Ireland are awful. In fact there is a cowboy in Cork in Ireland charging €5,500 PER IMPLANT!
most dentists dissuade people from going to eastern europe as they want to keep the work for themselves.
I have no problem with patients travelling for cheaper work and Budapest has proven a hot spot for cheaper, yet quality, work.

I'm in NO way affiliated to them,in fact I suppose they're competition sort of,but he's not my patient so I'm giving you a tip..I've heard good stories about their surgeons.
An implant there costs about €1,000 to €1,500
Thats about £660 to £1000 pounds..
His quote there would probably be equivalent to £4000 not £12000
I would ensure first I had NO other, underlying cavities etc in my mouth before undertaking cosmetic work and the gum disease must be treated primarily.
Also important is how long his incisors are mising, what is the state of the bone? Is there infection??
NO IMPLANTATION WITHOUT A CLEAN BILL OF ORAL HEALTH!! my advice to you..
