when you have dental implants put in, do they usually put you to sleep?
Dental implants?
No. You receive the same type of anesthesia as if you were having a filling done. Implant dentistry is not as intrusive as you think.
Reply:I had one done and I got put to sleep. I had the decision of local or general anesthesia. I chose to get put to sleep because last time I had work done I got general and my jaw hurt where the shots were for 6 months afterwards. It doesn't happen often though.
Reply:When you get teeth extracted I'm pretty sure that you can have either local anesthetic or general. Implants might be the same but I'm not sure. I could ask my mom she works in an oral surgeons.
