Dental Implants?

Can anyone tell me how much a dental implant costs... stories and effects of these implants? My #32 has to be removed. The dentist said that the cavity was caused by the wisdom tooth that was behind it. The wisdom tooth has been removed now.

I really need information about implants, along with any other suitable compairsions

Dental Implants?
Hello, first..your #32 tooth is your Wisdom tooth...there can't be another wisdom tooth behind it,, you only have one wisdom tooth at the back of each side of your upper and lower jaws. Now the tooth in front of the #32 is of course the #31, (2nd molar) and if it has to be extracted then a single tooth implant is possible As for the cost, it varies due to each DDS having different criteria that the DDS uses to set dental fees...and the fee set has absolutely nothing to do with fair trade practices and prices. The DDS pays between $85 and $120 for an implant post, the balance of the fee is a combination of office overhead, what he or she thinks they can get, and in some cases how especially important and talented he or she thinks they are. I have known of implant fees that are as low as $300 per post "only", and as much as $ 1000...Then of course you have the crown that fits over the post, The DDS pays a dental Technician to create the crown and pays that person around $90 for the crown and then charges a patient up to $1000 for it. Most dental fees represent a 5 to 10 times mark up over actual material cost. OK, there you have it. Good luck and I wish you well.
Reply:I asked a similar question a while back, but was still abit vague. You should ask the dentist how much they cost because it would seem prices vary from practice to practice!

Good Luck
Reply:Sometimes a dentist will cap a tooth next to the missing one and attach a fake tooth so it looks like two teeth. Often the wisdon tooth way in the back is not replaced. I have all my dental work done in Mexico as I am about 10 miles away in Texas. Same good service for less. My Mexican dentist reminds me of one I had in Chicago. He explains everything he is going to do, gives me choices and medical opinion. He draws little sketches as he is also an instructor.
